Tutti - La presbiopia è una condizione visiva naturale collegata all'avanzamento dell'età e solitamente colpisce le persone dopo i 40 anni, ma può arrivare anche prima o dopo.


Cos'è la presbiopia?
Nell’occhio, proprio dietro l’iride, si trova il cristallino, che contribuisce a riflettere la luce, cioè a farla convergere negli occhi per trasmetterla alla retina. E' simile all’obiettivo di un apparecchio fotografico che si regola per la messa a fuoco. Man mano che l'età avanza, il cristallino perde gradualmente la sua elasticità e questa condizione continua ad evolversi fino ai 60 anni. Questo indurimento impedisce all’occhio una messa a fuoco corretta rispetto a quanto avveniva prima dell'avvento della presbiopia.
